Following approval, registration, and months of commercial operation in Norway, EVtrain’s electric workhorse EA-200E makes its official industry premiere at ExCeL London, 22–24 September 2026
Ålesund, Norway — EVtrain today announced that its electric tourist train — the first of its kind to be approved and registered for operation in Europe — will have its official premiere for the professional market at IAAPA Expo Europe, taking place at ExCeL London from 22 to 24 September 2026.
The trains were officially registered in Germany during week 9 of 2026, followed by registration in Norway in week 11, marking a milestone for electric mobility in the tourist and attractions industry. Since 14 March 2026, seven trains have been in daily commercial operation in Ålesund, Norway, carrying cruise ship passengers to the city’s popular viewpoint and on sightseeing tours through the city center. With several months of real-world operating experience now behind it, EVtrain is bringing the train to London to present it officially to attractions operators, cruise lines, and tourism businesses from across Europe and beyond.
Powerful, Efficient, and Emission-Free
Each train is powered by an electric motor delivering up to 300 kW (402 hp) at maximum load, providing the performance needed to handle demanding routes while producing zero local emissions.
The approved configuration seats 56 passengers, or 52 passengers plus one wheelchair user, making the trains accessible to a wide range of visitors.
With a 180 kWh battery pack, the trains offer an operating time of 14+ hours, depending on the route driven. The battery can be recharged with up to 130 kW of charging power via a CCS2 connector, allowing for fast turnaround between shifts.
Built for Comfort and Stability
Both trailer units feature air suspension, and the locomotive itself is equipped with air suspension on the rear axle, ensuring a smooth, comfortable ride even on demanding routes and city streets.
Expanded Product Range
A 4WD version of the train received approval in April 2026, further expanding its capability on varied terrain. Trailers are also available in an open-air version, giving operators additional flexibility for scenic and sightseeing routes.
